Introduction to Kundalini Yoga Techniques
The Kundalini Yoga technique uses various yoga methods to awaken and maintain the active energy located at the base of each person's spine. In Kundalini Yoga classes, students follow a range of yoga techniques that include classical postures, chanting of mantras and slokas, meditation, as well as coordinated pranayama practice.
What is Kundalini Yoga: A beginner’s guide to learn yoga poses
The powerful energy of awakened kundalini energy is said to benefit practitioners on many levels i.e. physically, emotionally and spiritually.
As the Kundalini Shakti energy is awakened and nurtured, it travels up the spine and through the seven chakras, activating and purifying each chakra as it ascends to the crown chakra.
Each chakra has its own energy array, design, and seed spell. All seven chakras are connected to surrounding organs and glands. Also, as the Kundalini yoga shakti moves through each chakra, spiritual powers or siddhis can arise in the student. Powers such as clairvoyance and clairvoyance can be made available to students.
However, enlightened masters throughout the ages have warned us not to get too involved with the siddhis lest their new powers distract us from the ultimate goal of God-realization. When practicing Kundalini Yoga, many of the techniques used during class help activate, cleanse, and balance the seven chakras.
